Application photos: what to upload and what to avoid

The photos in your application are the first thing our team — and later brands — see. The good news: you don't need a professional shoot. This guide explains how to prepare application photos, what to upload and what to avoid.

The basic rule: recent, sharp and natural

• Recent: taken in the last few months. If your hair or look has changed, take new photos.
• Sharp: blurry, dark or distant shots make it hard to review your application.
• Natural: no filters, beauty apps or heavy retouching. Brands want to see you as you are.

Which photos to upload

A recommended set for models, actors, hosts and creators:

1. Close-up portrait — face clearly visible, minimal make-up.
2. Waist up — in front of a plain background.
3. Full length, front — in simple clothes that show your shape.
4. Full length, side — showing your posture.
5. One smiling and one neutral shot.
6. Optional: 1–2 images from previous work that you are allowed to use.

If you are a photographer, videographer, make-up artist or stylist, upload your best work instead of photos of yourself, and add links to your video work.

Taking good photos with your phone

• Use daylight: face a window; soft light beats direct sun.
• Keep the background simple: a white or light wall is ideal.
• Keep the camera at eye level: ask a friend or use a timer.
• Use the back camera: it is usually sharper than the front camera.

What to avoid

• Filtered, face-altering or AI-generated images
• Shots where sunglasses, hats or hair cover your face
• Group photos, or photos of other people without their consent
• Any photo that includes someone under 18
• Nudity or sexual content
• Professional images you don't have the right to use
